About the author
Lieven L. Litaer, born in 1980, is a native Belgian who grew up and lives in Germany. Even as a child, he had a gift for languages and was already fluent in several foreign languages by elementary school. When his interest in Star Trek led him to the Klingon language, this combination triggered a chain reaction that quickly made him one of the leading experts on Klingon.
Since 2002, Litaer has organized an annual three-day Klingon language symposium, which has garnered international acclaim. Litaer’s reputation as a Klingon expert has been further enhanced by his courses on social media, leading to several television appearances and international requests for translation projects.
In 2017, he published the world’s first Klingon textbook, followed in 2018 by his Klingon translation of the children’s classic The Little Prince, which won the German Fantasy Award in 2019.
In his everyday life, Litaer works as an architect and lives with his family in Saarland.
